Introducing Ross who runs Pilates classes at Silver Tree on Wednesday eves

Ross Grieve is a highly experienced physiotherapist with over 17 years’ experience teaching Pilates in Edinburgh and Peebles. He trained with Kinetic Control and the Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute and combines rehabilitation principles with Pilates to support people to improve how their body moves.

Ross strives to provide a welcoming and personalised experience, so he limits classes to no more than 10 so he can respond to what each individual needs.

Ross is also an accomplished ultra-runner and coach. He is passionate about promoting active lifestyles and well-being in general so there’s always a bit of chat about health, well-being, getting and staying active, athletic performance, getting older … being old! … staying young!! –his classes are friendly and good fun.

Ross runs evening classes in both Peebles and Cardrona. Classes run in blocks (school term times) with flexibility for people to swap between classes. More information about the classes and booking can be made by phoning 07825 564991 or email jackiemhodge@hotmail.com

Helen

Sports & Remedial Massage Therapist and level 3 Mat Pilates Teacher
BSc (Hons) Biology DSM DOSM DRSM (SMTO)
Helen believes we can all feel and function better and is passionate about helping you with both Massage and Pilates.

As a Massage Therapist, she enjoys working with clients to relieve pain and improve comfortable movement, although you don’t need to be in pain to benefit from a massage – it’s a great well-being boost, both mental and physical.

Treatments are tailored to each client using a mix of techniques, including Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, assisted stretching and Thai, always aiming for a session to be relaxing and therapeutic.
Her Pilates classes have a restorative feel where the goal is to help you feel stronger and more balanced in your body for whatever you do outside class, walking, working, wind-surfing or just daily life.

She also offers 1:1 sessions if you’re looking for a personalised programme.
Outside of the studio, Helen is kept busy by her family, her chickens and a love of far eastern flavours and fat beats.

A new addition to Melanie’s classes is HIPP (high intensity power pilates) the class uses light weights and is great for strengthening muscles and getting the heart rate up. Basically it is SQUAT, LUNGE, PLANK, REPEAT!

When Melanie is not at the studio you can find her pottering in the garden, out on her road bike exploring the Borders or hiking the hills with her dogs.
